At December 18, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and NWO announced that a Gravitation grant is awarded to the "Netherlands Center for Multiscale Catalytic Energy Conversion" (MCEC) with Bert Weckhuysen as main applicant.

Bert Weckhuysen Spinoza Laureate 2013

At September 27, Bert Weckhuysen received the 2013 NWO Spinoza Prize in the 'Nieuwe Kerk' in The Hague. This prize, awarded to researchers employed in the Netherlands who belong to the absolute top of science according to international standards, is the highest scientific award within the Netherlands.

Bert Weckhuysen recipient of the Bourke Award 2013

The Awards Committee of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s (RSC) Faraday Division has awarded Bert Weckhuysen the 2013 RSC Bourke Award. It has been awarded for his highly innovative contributions to the understanding of the functioning of catalytic solids using spectroscopic methods.
