Using x-ray spectroscopy to probe the electronic structure of manganites due to doping effects
Perovskites-type metal oxides, with the formula of ABO3, have attracted considerable attention due to their wide range of functionality such as catalysis, superconductors, gas sensors and batteries. Among them, manganites show not only novel physical properties but also a variety of catalytic activities. Spectroscopic techniques have been at the forefront in helping interpret the origin of the complex behavior of perovskite-type manganites in recent years.
We are planning to use XAS, XPS and RIXS techniques in order to track the effect of the dopant on the physical and catalytic properties of manganites.
