Hydrogenation of intermediate light oxygenates: Understanding promoter effects.
Hydrogenation of light oxygenates is an important potential step in the direct conversion of syngas to C2+ oxygenates. Copper-based supported catalysts are known species for the selective hydrogenation of esters and aldehyde, towards alcohols. However, the addition of promoters is crucial. This research project is funded by BP, to investigate promoters effects, combined with the use of novel supports.
